Cheesecake recipes (Fri, 29 Aug 2008 04:49:02 GMT)
There is no substitute for a full, rich, creamy cheesecake. I have tried dozens of cheesecake recipes and made variants on old favorites. It seems there are two distinct classes for basic cheesecakes - the heavy old fashion "New York" style, and a very light cheesecake. I prefer both to be served at room temperature both for texture and flavor.
Here is the primer for making your own cheesecake from any cheesecake recipe. It covers all the basic tools, choices for crusts, preparing the batter, tips for baking, and variantss for cheesecake toppings. There are links to other favorite cheesecake recipes, including speciality cheesecake recipes.

You may not be surprised to learn that I went to visit my mother in December. She is 85 and doesn't do much cooking these days. I was surprised by a new peanut butter "cookie" recipe she had baked. I liked it so much, she sent the batch home with me. And she gave me the recipe. These Peanut Butter Cookie Biscotti Sticks are a simple but tasty snack. Now it is your turn to post a favorite recipe in your notebook.
Holiday Recipes - share your favorites here or find a new one (Sun, 02 Dec 2007 04:44:51 GMT)
It is December. Holidays are under way. College-Cram.com is a great site for social learning, but it doesn't all have to be about school. At Thanksgiving in November, I made a plain cheesecake and posted my recipe here. I had a recipe I needed to share with the family, and by posting it here, they can all find it now. You can do the same. Now it is your turn to share a favorite holiday recipe, or any others.
When you log in to College-Cram you can create presentations or blog entries that you can make public. Another plus is, if you do a good job of titling your presentations and sections and entering keywords, and various combinations of those keywords, within a week or two you can probably find your entry using Internet search tools for a few of those keywords that are in your title and text. I think that is pretty cool.
